What you get from Medical volunteering in Uganda:

Volunteer and provide much-needed expertise at Suubi Medical centre working alongside local Ugandan professional staff, doctors, medical clinical officers, midwives and nurses, supporting the diverse operations of community healthcare. There is no limit to how involved you can get in daily operations at Suubi medical centre; it all depends on your level of skills

By volunteering, you will get hands-on experience of the dynamics of public health in Uganda and help the struggling healthcare system, while volunteering; you will widen your own perspective of what medical care in Africa looks like

Spend one on one time with vulnerable children in reading clubs, care centres and Ugandan preschools, having fun while aiding in their development

Assist in Busu community home-based care, providing much needed medical support for those with limited resources and medical access

Enjoy the peaceful village of Busu and Iganga town which you will call home, take in the green rolling hills, scenic walking paths and local cafes, enjoy the hassle and bustle of a Ugandan town.

As the program is located in Iganga not far from the vibrant city of Jinja which is also the adventure capital of Uganda, there is plenty to keep your weekends busy. From White water rafting, bungee jumping, swimming, Quad bike safaris and beaches!

About your volunteering destination:

Uganda is a beautiful and diverse country, with much for a visitor to experience. It’s home to some of the world’s best safari locations and offers the most diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities.

Your volunteer work will be based in the communities surrounding Busu Village in Iganga district. The climate is warm and temperate.

Your accommodation is at Mum resort. It’s a lovely, green, secure and scenic place where you can enjoy recreational activities such as swimming, gym or just relaxing by the fire on a cold day at the café or bar.

You will be living in a cosy private hotel with hot showers and cooked meals. There is also Wi-Fi at the hotel if you need to get in touch with home.

What your  Medical volunteering in Uganda fee includes:

  • Accommodation throughout your entire stay, sometimes the accommodation is shared by our volunteers, interns and staff
  • 3 delicious meals a day cooked from the local community
